Summary of maintenance and special projects completed in 2005.
During a storm a large tree fell across the fence and into the emergency spillway area causing damage and blocking the spillway.
The inlet section of this pipe had separated from the second section causing water to backup into the ditch, sometimes flooding over the road.
A very large tree had fallen into the River Styx channel just north of Wall Rd., causing a blockage.
The drop inlet of 36R had rusted out in several places, greatly reducing the ability of the pipe to function as designed.
The trees and brush along the stream channel that runs through the middle of the emergency spillway at Dam VIII-C was overgrown with trees and shrubs.
The inlet section of this pipe had separated from the second section causing water to backup into the ditch, sometimes flooding over the road.
The separated pipe was forcing water around and under the second section of pipe. If not repaired, the water would eventually erode underneath the pipe possibly to the point of washing the pipe out and eroding the bank. It was determined that the first section should be removed and replaced with rock riprap to alleviate the problem.
